Ilayaraja should be given Bharat Ratna; Should be nominated to the Rajya Sabha; Tamil Nadu BJP
Chennai: The BJP Tamil Nadu unit has demanded that the Bharat Ratna be given to music director Ilayaraja. Ilayaraja needs to be given the highest honor in the country, says Tamil Nadu BJP state president Annamalai said.
Annamalai said it would be an honor for the President to include Ilayaraja among the 12 nominees for the Rajya Sabha.
Ilayaraja is not a BJP member. Ilayaraja is a man from all over Tamil Nadu. Annamalai said he would write a letter to the central government asking it to award the Bharat Ratna to Ilayaraja
Dr. B.R. Annamalai’s response came after Ilayaraja’s comparison between Ambedkar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ilayaraja compares Modi and Ambedkar in the introduction to the book ‘Ambedkar and Modi: Reformers Ideas Performance Implementation’ published by the Blue Cart Digital Foundation.
Modi and Ambedkar have been successful in overcoming crises from the lower strata of society. Both have faced oppressive social conditions and starvation. The book says that both of them worked to eliminate them.
Modi and Ambedkar dreamed for India. Ilayaraja said that both of them believed in practicality and action.
Ilayaraja said Ambedkar may have been proud of Modi through his plans to ban mutalaq for the upliftment of Muslim women and to bring in Betty Bacha or Betty Patha for women and children.
Meanwhile, a photo posted on social media by music director and Ilayaraja’s son Yuvan Shankar Raja wearing a black shorts and T-shirt is also being discussed. The photo was posted with the caption ‘Dark Dravidian, Proud Tamil’.
