Kerala’s journey to the Santosh Trophy Championship on home soil starts tomorrow. The first match of the championship will be between Punjab and West Bengal in the morning. Kerala will take on Rajasthan in the inaugural match at the Manjeri Payyanad Stadium in the evening. Kerala will play at 8.00 pm.
Teams are excited to be competing in a country where football is a nation of people. The whistle will be blown for the first match tomorrow at 09:30 am at Kottapadi ground. Strong West Bengal will face Punjab. The inaugural match of the championship will be the Kerala-Rajasthan match at the main venue Manjeri Payyanad Stadium at 8 pm.
This time Kerala is getting ready for the fight with the youth team led by Jijo Joseph. The strength of the front line will also increase the confidence of Kerala. In the South Zone qualifiers, Kerala scored 17 goals in three matches. The seventh Santosh Trophy will be on Kerala’s shelf if they can take advantage of the competition on home soil.
The competition is divided into two groups of ten teams. Kerala is in the strongest group comprising of Bengal and Punjab teams.
