Thiruvananthapuram | Drivers of KSRTC Swift buses fired in the accident. The action was taken following the discovery of a fall on the part of the drivers. The Swift buses, which started service last day, were involved in the accident. Both accidents occurred shortly before services were flagged off. An investigation by the Internal Investigation Commission found that the accident was caused by a fall on the part of the drivers.
The accidents took place on April 11 at 11 pm in Kallambalam in Thiruvananthapuram and on April 12 at 10.25 am in Kottakal in Malappuram district. The KS29 bus from Thiruvananthapuram to Kozhikode was the first to be involved in the accident. The lorry was coming from the opposite direction near Kallambalam. The second accident occurred when a KS36 bus coming from Kozhikode to Thiruvananthapuram collided with a private bus at Malappuram Chankuvetty. All employees of KSRTC Swift are contract workers.
