Abdul Rahman, Feroz, a native of Pattambi, and Ummer and Abdul Qadir, a native of Pattambi, were identified as the culprits. It is learned that one of the bikes used by the accused was registered in Tamil Nadu. Feroz and Ummer arrived on this bike. The attackers arrived in three vehicles. One of the vehicles, the Activa, was identified as Abdul Qadir.
Srinivasan was killed within 24 hours of the killing of Palakkad SDPI activist Zubair. Srinivasan is a former corporal of the RSS.
Saravan, Arumughan and Ramesh were arrested in connection with Zubair’s murder. The police had said that the three were RSS-BJP activists and that the motive behind the murder was the animosity in the Sanjith murder case. Police will file a custody application for the accused today.
Sanjit’s close friend Ramesh is the mastermind behind Zubair’s murder. The defendants had twice tried to kill Zubair earlier. On April 1 and 8, the defendants tried to kill Zubair but failed. He was then attacked again on Vishu day and killed.
