The pickup truck that caused the death of Paraswamy, a native of Tamil Nadu, was found in Kunnamkulam, Thrissur. The van of a Vellarakkad resident caused the accident. The KSRTC Swift also went up and down at the feet of Paramaswamy who fell down after being hit by a pickup truck.
Earlier, it was reported that he was killed by a KSRTC K Swift bus. But CCTV footage showed that it was not Swift but another vehicle.
The accident took place at Kunnumkulam around 5.30 am today. The pickup van collided while crossing Paraswamy Road. It was alleged that the speeding bus was hit and did not stop. Police said the driver of the bus was unaware of the accident.
The locals had informed the Kunnamkulam police immediately after the accident. Police rushed to the spot and rushed Paraswamy to a nearby taluk hospital and later to a medical college hospital, but he could not be saved.
The KSRTC K Swift bus was traveling from Thrissur to Kozhikode when the accident occurred. The K-Swift bus had been involved in an accident earlier. KSRTC MD Biju Prabhakar had said that there was suspicion in the first accident and that he would lodge a complaint with the DGP.
