The second Friday of Ramadan; Tens of thousands flocked to Iruharam 2022

Mecca / Medina | Tens of thousands flocked to Iruharam to attend the second Friday prayers of the holy month of Ramadan. Believers came for Friday prayers despite the intense heat. On Thursday, a large number of believers flocked to the two harems from the Maghreb, following the removal of the permit condition for entry into the harems as part of Kovid security and the addition of the weekend holiday.

The entrances to the Masjid al-Haram in Makkah were heavily guarded due to the influx of pilgrims. Only Umrah pilgrims dressed as Ihram were allowed to enter the Matwaf to perform Umrah without any hassle. The Haram Imam Sheikh Dr. Saud bin Ibrahim Al-Shuraim and Sheikh Dr. Hussein bin Abdul Aziz Al-Shaikh also led the way.

The Imams said in the Qutb that reciting the Qur’an with divine remembrance and wisdom during the month of Ramadan is one of the greatest and best acts of worship. Through the Holy Qur’an, they reminded the believers to follow the commandments of Allah to move their hearts, purify their limbs and enrich their lives.

The entire floors and surroundings of the Masjid-ul-Haram and Masjid-un-Nabawi were filled with people attending Friday prayers. An extensive team of doctors, led by the Saudi Red Crescent-Ministry of Health, was also deployed to ensure treatment for patients in distress. Aerial surveillance has been installed in both the harems. Security has also been beefed up on the Jeddah-Mecca expressway.
